Family is fantastic

I love my family!  Sometimes I do not realize how lucky I am to have such a great family!  I am especially lucky to have family close to me here in Hawaii.  Katie (little sister), BreeAnna & Tofa, Travis, Levi (Niece and nephews) and Zak (brother-in-law).  It will not last much longer since we will be moving to a different island in June.  I am sure going to miss them.  We get together just about every Sunday for dinner.  Most Sundays we are missing one or two family members, but every once in awhile we get all of us there, and let just say it is a bit chaotic, but it is so fun.  We have created a lot of memories that I will have forever!

Even though the rest of my family is far away, they are still great, and I love them dearly!  I was very lucky to have married into an awesome family too!  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Phils family!  I miss them living in Hawaii just as much as my own family.

Anyway, I am just feeling very lucky to have such a great family, so here are just a few pictures of my fantastic family...Some are a little old, but that is ok!

I may have gone a little overboard on the pictures...sorry.  I also have lots of family that are not in any of these pictures...I don't have time to go through all my pics...sorry! :)

Meet Petie

We are not really sure how to spell his name, but we just acquired a new pet, a lovely cockatiel. He (we think) is very friendly!  The first night he pooped on both of my shoulders and one of Phils.  He has become quite fond of Phil scratching behind his head, and he also loves anything shiny, like my earrings and necklace.  Phil has been watching him the last week hanging out on the power lines in front of our house.  Phil finally took some time today and caught Petie.  We found out who he belongs to, but they did not want him anymore.  They were going to come pick him up and try to give him away, but we said we would keep him.  He kindof grew on us tonight.  So they brought over his cage, and here we are proud parents of a cockatiel! :)

My Seniors

I would just like to say that chaperoning 16 high school seniors for 3 days at a hotel in Waikiki is exhausting! It took me all weekend to recover! I'd like to think that it is because I am 8 months pregnant! My students are amazing, hard working individuals, but they are still high school seniors and stress me out a bit. I will say I did not carry one thing the entire 3 days because I always had one of my boys carrying it for me, no matter how heavy or how light the bag was. I am really going to miss my students when I am done, but I am confident that the joy of being with my baby will outweigh the joy of being a teacher!!

Why is it so fun to scare people?

So I have been teaching the nervous system the last week and today we were talking about stimulants and reactions and reflexes. It was a fun conversation, and any one who has seen me teach knows that I get of the subject quite easily and I love to tell stories. My students rather enjoy that about me! So, we were talking about loud, unexpected noises and how we react to this, and eventually we started talking about scaring people and getting scared. My first thought was my sister Biz (Liz, Elizabeth, Bizzy, she goes by many names). Some of my funniest memories are from scaring Biz. She is the best person to scare EVER. You may have just scared her 2 seconds ago and she sees you standing around the next corner and as long as you jump out and yell, you will get her every time. Possibly one of the best scares was when we were in high school and my brother Brad just got off his mission. Brad convinced Biz that her cabbage patch doll was possessed! Then one morning shortly after this Brad hung the cabbage patch doll and had it suspended above her bed when she woke up. I still do not think she can look at cabbage patch dolls the same way! :)

Phil is another fun one to scare. Maybe it is because he is so big, and it is funny when big people yell and jump...I just don't know. My favorite is to sneak into the bathroom while he is showering...that always gets him good. I have to be careful with that one though because he usually tries to get me as wet as possible when I do that!

Anyway, I am not sure why it is so fun to scare people, but it makes me laugh everytime it happens! Even when people scare me, I laugh!

Pregnancy Pictures...Finally

This is taken early December at 16 weeks pregnant.  I was very excited to start showing...but it was still at the stage where most people did not notice anything, or if they did, it was too dangerous to ask. :)

Here I am at 26 weeks pregnant.  Phil and I went for a picnic at the beach. :)  Not the best pregnancy pic, but it showing progress. :)

These last two were taken yesterday at 32 weeks pregnant.  I would say some definite progress.  There is no question as to what kind of belly I got going on.  Plus if you look at it for any amount of time it will definitely start moving.  I  have quite an active baby.  I love being pregnant.  I told Phil that I think we are going to have a lot of kids because I love being pregnant so much.  I suppose I should try to deal with them once they are out of the belly before I make that decision. :)
